Looking for a Chief Scrum Master (CSM) that would be responsible for guiding multiple Scrum Masters, teams, and departments in the effective application of Agile principles and practices. The CSM drives Agile maturity across the organization, removes systemic impediments, fosters continuous improvement, and ensures alignment with enterprise-wide Agile transformation goals. This role operates at a strategic level to support portfolio delivery, program execution, and Agile governance.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to Scrum Masters across multiple teams.
• Facilitate cross-team collaboration and resolve dependencies across programs and ARTs (Agile Release Trains) or delivery units.
• Work closely with Product Management, Release Train Engineers, Engineering, and executive stakeholders to optimize flow of value.
• Champion Agile principles and help evolve Agile practices to fit business needs (SAFe, LeSS, custom scaling models).
• Monitor and remove enterprise-wide impediments that affect team or program performance.
• Promote continuous improvement by conducting Agile health assessments, retrospectives, and process evaluations.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies at the program level (Scrum of Scrums, PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt).
• Contribute to the Agile Center of Excellence or similar community to standardize best practices and KPIs.
• Align delivery with strategic objectives and ensure transparency at all levels via dashboards, metrics, and reporting.
• Lead Agile training and onboarding for new teams, Scrum Masters, and leadership stakeholders.
• Track team metrics (velocity, cycle time, predictability, etc.) and identify trends or risks early.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Agile delivery roles, including 3+ years as a Senior Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
• Proven experience leading or coordinating across multiple Agile teams.
• Deep understanding of Agile and Lean principles, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
• Demonstrated success in coaching and mentoring Scrum Masters and team members.
• Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience with Agile project management tools (Jira, Rally, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with executive presence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), or equivalent certifications.
• Certified Scrum Professional – ScrumMaster (CSP-SM), Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC/ICP-ENT).
• Experience in highly regulated or complex environments (e.g., automotive, finance, healthcare).
• Familiarity with value stream mapping, OKRs, Lean Portfolio Management.

 
Estimated Min Rate: $59.50
Estimated Max Rate: $85.00
