Benefits Coordinator / Analyst
Contract-to-Hire — Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

 
Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, implementation, and administration of the company’s benefit plans
  • Coordinate benefit program changes by working closely with HRIS, payroll, and other departments
  • Create communications, presentations, and training materials for benefit programs; develop materials for open enrollment and manage distribution and follow-up of educational resources
  • Administer day-to-day operations and reporting for the defined contribution (401k) plan
  • Manage COBRA, ERISA, and other compliance tasks ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations, Internal Revenue Code, and organizational policies
  • Assist in designing wellness programs and coordinate flu shot and related initiatives
  • Maintain data integrity and audits across HRIS and benefits systems, leveraging advanced Excel skills
  • Keep employee-facing benefit information up to date on the company intranet
  • Respond to Tier 0 benefits inquiries via shared inbox
  • Process billing invoices within net 45 payment terms
  • Document standard operating procedures for core benefit tasks
  • Handle leave of absence administration (FMLA, disability, state leave laws) and ADA accommodation processes
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve benefits-related issues
 
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with Workday preferred, especially using report writer tools to extract and manipulate data
  • Strong understanding of state and federal leave of absence laws (e.g. FMLA, PDL, CFRA, MLOA) and how they interact
  • Ability to interpret complex benefit contracts, policies, and plan documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of negotiating and collaborating with employees, vendors, and brokers
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks accurately, on time, and with attention to detail
  • Strong relationship-building mindset and initiative to improve benefit processes
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas), and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, or related field required
  • 1-5 years of experience in employee benefits administration (education and experience combined)
  • Professional certification (CEBS, CBP, PHR) preferred


Estimated Min Rate: $24.50
Estimated Max Rate: $35.00
