Autonomous Vehicle Reliability Technician
The team is searching for a technician dedicated to maintaining our test vehicle fleet. If you are an independent problem-solver with a passion for automotive development and a drive to advance autonomous technology, this role is for you. You will be responsible for supporting vehicle-level tests. Candidates must possess a comprehensive background in vehicle service or automotive testing. Success in this position requires a strong hands-on approach and meticulous attention to detail. We value self-starters who can effectively manage multiple tasks and organize their workload with minimal oversight.

Scope:
• Support vehicle level tests including test preparation, vehicle inspections, HW/SW retrofits, and updates. Collaborate closely with vehicle operators, lead technician and engineering teams to document test details, issues, and support resolution finding.
• Troubleshoot and solve automotive, mechanical, electrical and software issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Provide comprehensive support for instrumentation and data acquisition setups related to Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH), Road Load, and general Vibration testing.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area. Manage tools and parts inventory 

Required:
• Extensive knowledge of automotive service, including experience with EVs / hybrids.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical malfunctions utilizing a comprehensive suite of hand tools, power tools, OEM diagnostic tools, and debugging instruments.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Self-motivated, goal oriented, and ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a vehicle engineering or service technician.
• Candidates must have the ability and willingness to travel (Up to 10%).
• ASE or OEM technician certifications.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Pluses:
• Previous experience in AV field operations, depot support, or R&D fleet environments provide engineering support for various vehicle testing, research programs, equipment design or test development.
• Be open to learning about SW (don't need to be an expert). Exposure to Linux-based systems.
• Basic machining or fabrication skills.
• Able to work overtime as requested / flexible hours.
• Experience with data acquisition systems and various sensors (ex: SOMAT, Control Tec, NI, Dewesoft, Siemens LMS Testlab, Oscilloscope, Picoscope, DMM, accelerometers, wheel force transducers, thermocouples, strain gauges, load cells, pressure transducers, torque, displacement sensors, CAN, LIN, Flexray Bus architecture type systems and diagnosis.).
 

Estimated Min Rate: $30.00
Estimated Max Rate: $35.00/hr+. Depends on work experience
