Automation Engineer – Autoclave Qualification Project (Client Andover Site)

Duration: November 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026

Yoh, a Day & Zimmermann Company, on behalf of the Client, is seeking two highly skilled Automation Engineers to provide automation and qualification support for two new autoclaves under the AB Vaccine Phase A Capital Project.
This role is critical to ensuring compliance, system performance, and readiness for GMP operations within the Client’s Building A Suite AB Vaccine area. Responsibilities
Primary Scope of Work

• Review vendor software specifications for two new autoclaves.
• Perform PLC modifications and updates to meet project requirements.
• Develop SCADA/MCS screens and MCS reports to support automation integration.
• Update SQL and OSI PI databases for system data acquisition and reporting.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including:
  • Functional Specifications (FS)
  • Configuration Specifications (CS)
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Data Integrity (DI) Assessments
• Support Vendor FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and site installation.
• Update system drawings and related control documentation.
• Support system commissioning and operational qualification (OQ).
• Provide post-OQ hypercare to ensure stable GMP operations.

Project Participation

• Attend weekly and ad-hoc project meetings with The Client’s project and process automation teams.
• Collaborate with Process Engineers, Automation Engineers, and End Users to achieve system release.
• Ensure all project deliverables meet the Client's quality and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain documentation and configuration control consistent with the Client’s standards.

Qualifications
Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation or process control systems.
• Proven experience with autoclaves, biopharma process equipment, or similar regulated environments.
• Strong proficiency in:
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting(Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)
  • SCADA/HMI systems(Wonderware, Rockwell, or similar)
  • SQL / OSI PI data management systems
• Experience in GMP documentation, commissioning, and qualification activities.
• Familiarity with data integrity principles and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

Preferred

• Previous experience on the Client's or equivalent pharmaceutical automation projects.
• Knowledge of CSV (Computer System Validation) and automation lifecycle practices.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Estimated Min Rate: $40.25
Estimated Max Rate: $57.50
