Atlassian Platform Administrator (Jira & Confluence)

Title: Atlassian Platform Administrator (Jira & Confluence)
Compensation:$40-55/hr (depends on experience)

Responsibilities

• Oversee both self-hosted (Data Center) and Atlassian Cloud Jira/Confluence environments, including hybrid operations and future migrations.
• Configure projects, workflows, permission schemes, custom fields, dashboards, spaces, templates, and macros.
• Manage user provisioning and SSO integrations (Okta, Azure AD); ensure platform reliability, performance, backups, and DR readiness.
• Automate issue tracking, reporting, and administrative tasks using Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner, Insight/Assets, Groovy, and REST APIs.
• Integrate Jira/Confluence with adjacent DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines) to streamline engineering workflows.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for service-desk tickets; deliver user training, knowledge articles, and best-practice guidance.
• Partner with Engineering, Security, and Operations teams on access automation, policy enforcement, and continuous platform improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of dedicated experience administering Jira and Confluence (self-hosted or Data Center).
• Deep knowledge of project/workflow configuration, custom fields, dashboards, and permission schemes.
• Proficiency in Linux administration, scripting (Bash, Python), and system monitoring.
• Familiarity with ITSM or Agile frameworks (SLAs, sprint metrics) and related reporting.
• Demonstrated success supporting end users, resolving technical tickets, and producing clear documentation.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; ownership mindset in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in defense, government-contract, or similarly regulated settings.
• Current Atlassian certifications (ACP-100, ACP-120, ACP-200).
• Expertise supporting both Atlassian Data Center and Cloud deployments.
• Familiarity with SSO/IdP integrations (Okta, Azure AD) and federated authentication.
• Hands-on experience with ScriptRunner, REST API scripting, and other automation frameworks.

Estimated Min Rate: $35.00
Estimated Max Rate: $50.00
