Atlassian Platform Administrator (Data Center)

Yoh is seeking a high-performing Atlassian Platform Administrator to support a leading advanced-technology organization in the defense sector. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the company’s Atlassian ecosystem. The ideal candidate is an expert in Atlassian Data Center administration, thrives in high-security environments, and delivers exceptional service to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Title: Atlassian Platform Administrator (Jira & Confluence)
Compensation:$70-80/hr+ (depends on experience)
Type: Contract-to-hire
Location:  Dallas, TX (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize Atlassian Data Center environments (Jira, Confluence), ensuring platform performance, uptime, and data integrity.
• Lead ongoing data security initiatives, maintaining strict compliance with internal and external security protocols in a regulated environment.
• Manage user provisioning, SSO/IdP integrations (Okta, Azure AD), and access control with a focus on least privilege and data protection.
• Configure and maintain projects, workflows, dashboards, permission schemes, spaces, and templates to align with evolving business processes.
• Develop and maintain automations and integrations leveraging Automation for Jira, ScriptRunner, Groovy, REST APIs, and related frameworks.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security, and Operations teams to streamline processes, integrate with DevOps toolchains (GitLab, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines), and enhance productivity.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Atlassian-related requests, delivering world-class customer support and user training.
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery and backup strategies; ensure audit readiness and system compliance.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve platform performance, governance, and user experience.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Atlassian Jira and Confluence (Data Center) in complex, high-security environments.
• Proven expertise with Atlassian platform configuration, automation, and performance tuning.
• Deep understanding of data protection, access control, and secure system administration principles.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python) for operational automation.
• Strong knowledge of SSO integrations (Okta, Azure AD) and federated authentication protocols.
• Experience managing integrations between Atlassian tools and DevOps ecosystems (e.g., GitLab, Azure DevOps, CI/CD).
• Exceptional customer service orientation and communication skills; proven ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, with a proactive approach to maintaining system integrity and compliance.
• Current Atlassian certifications (ACP-100, ACP-120, ACP-200) strongly preferred.
• Prior experience supporting systems within defense, government, or other regulated environments required.
