Associate Scientist,  Cambridge, MA

Overview
The Associate Scientist II will join a fast paced and interdisciplinary research and development team focused on advancing novel therapeutic programs from discovery through lead candidate selection. This role requires strong technical expertise in molecular and or cell biology, along with a rigorous and analytical approach to laboratory research.

This position is onsite and primarily located in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform cell culture including iPSCs, primary cells, and immortalized cell lines to support research activities and high throughput screening using qPCR and a variety of cell based assays
• Execute day to day operations for RNA sequencing sample preparation, including library preparation, quality control, and sequencing. Maintain accurate sample tracking and documentation
• Conduct assays supporting in vivo studies such as qPCR and ELISA for quantitative analysis of biomarkers or therapeutic activity
• Support laboratory operations including equipment operation and maintenance, reagent inventory management, and reagent preparation
• Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to the optimization and development of new and existing protocols
• Utilize laboratory instrumentation and automation platforms to support high throughput screening in 384 well formats
• Adapt to evolving project needs, workflows, and priorities within the research platform

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a biological science with at least 2 years of hands on laboratory experience in cell biology or molecular biology
• Experience with cell culture and purification and quantification of nucleic acids and proteins, including qPCR
• Experience with next generation sequencing workflows preferred
• Experience with laboratory automation and liquid handling systems such as PerkinElmer, Beckman, or similar platforms
• Strong attention to detail, high level of motivation, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to thrive in a goal driven, deadline oriented, and collaborative team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic research setting.
