Job Functions
- Perform routine analytical testing under the direction and supervision of senior scientific personnel.
- Test raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples using established compendial and non-compendial methods.
- Assist with analytical method development, evaluation, validation, verification, and method transfer activities.
- Perform analytical techniques including wet chemistry, spectrometry, chromatography, and physical testing.
- Operate laboratory instrumentation including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, Karl Fischer, balances, and other analytical equipment following established procedures.
- Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and solutions required for analytical testing.
- Accurately document laboratory testing in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP), company procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Record, analyze, and communicate analytical results to senior scientists and management.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of study plans, protocols, and reports.
- Support preparation of technical documentation, including SOPs, analytical methods, validation documentation, and method transfer documentation.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks, instrument logbooks, and other required records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
- Assist with preventive maintenance, calibration, qualification, and routine monitoring of laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
- Support laboratory Quality Systems, including sample, standard, and reagent management.
- Assist with monitoring stability chambers and controlled-environment storage equipment.
- Prepare sample and standard reconciliation documentation and other laboratory reports as required.
- Support QC data management activities, including data entry, data review, and control charting.
- Collaborate with Product Development and other cross-functional team members to support project timelines and analytical testing requirements.
- Provide timely analytical support for R&D activities associated with the development of generic pharmaceutical products for U.S. and international markets.
- Follow established laboratory procedures, safety requirements, Quality Systems, and compliance programs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment, including proper cleaning and storage of laboratory equipment and glassware.
- Perform additional laboratory responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, or another related scientific discipline required.
- Entry level to two (2) years of laboratory experience; pharmaceutical, academic, internship, or related analytical laboratory experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of analytical chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
- Academic or professional hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, Karl Fischer, or similar laboratory equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with wet chemistry, chromatography, spectrometry, and physical testing techniques.
- Exposure to analytical method development, validation, verification, or method transfer is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and laboratory documentation requirements preferred.
- Pharmaceutical R&D, GMP, GLP, or other regulated laboratory experience is a plus.
- Ability to accurately follow written analytical methods, SOPs, protocols, and laboratory procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection and documentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple laboratory assignments.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the guidance of senior scientific personnel and collaborate within a cross-functional team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and similar software applications.
- Motivated to learn new analytical techniques, instrumentation, and pharmaceutical development processes.
- Pharmaceutical R&D laboratory and office environment.
- Regularly required to perform hands-on laboratory testing and operate analytical instrumentation and equipment.
- Regular handling of laboratory glassware, chemicals, samples, standards, and reagents in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Regular use of computers and related systems for data entry, analysis, documentation, and communication.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while performing laboratory activities.
- Must be able to maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace.
