Position Summary
We’re seeking a Lead Android Developer to design, build, and lead delivery of commercial-grade Android applications for a consumer banking environment. This role blends hands-on mobile engineering (Kotlin + Jetpack Compose) with Agile team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strong influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll help shape mobile architecture, champion quality and UX best practices, and drive reliable releases through modern CI/CD.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of production Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Own and evolve the mobile architecture (patterns, modularization, maintainability, performance, security, and test strategy).
- Partner with product, design, QA, and backend teams to deliver high-quality features for consumer banking, including account management and customer onboarding.
- Drive Agile execution: facilitate team rituals, refine stories, mentor engineers, and remove delivery blockers.
- Integrate RESTful APIs and appropriate third-party libraries, ensuring reliability, scalability, and secure data handling.
- Champion mobile UI/UX principles and accessibility best practices to create intuitive, engaging customer experiences.
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for mobile builds, testing, and deployment; ensure consistent release quality.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders, translating technical tradeoffs into business impact and influencing decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 10–12+ years of experience designing and building complex, commercial-grade software systems.
- 4+ years leading Agile teams (formal or informal leadership: tech lead, lead engineer, team lead).
- Expert-level experience building production Android apps with:
- Kotlin
- Jetpack Compose
- Experience in consumer banking, specifically account management and onboarding.
- Strong experience integrating RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.
- Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices (responsiveness, accessibility, consistency, usability).
Estimated Min Rate: $126000.00
Estimated Max Rate: $180000.00
