We are seeking a Grid Systems Consultant to support the delivery of comprehensive grid management systems consulting services for electric utility clients. The primary responsibility of this role is to contribute to the successful execution of service offerings that modernize operations, enhance reliability, and integrate advanced grid technologies for a resilient, future-ready grid.
The consultant will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assist clients through every phase of their modernization journey—from strategy development, capability assessment, and business case analysis to requirements definition, RFP development, software selection, and program management. This position also supports system integration and implementation services, including the design, build, testing, and deployment of advanced technology solutions in SCADA, OMS, ADMS, and DERMS.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery and implementation of SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, and DERMS solutions under the direction of senior team members.
  • Assist in commissioning, testing, and deployment activities for grid management systems, following established processes and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to troubleshooting, field support, and project coordination activities aimed at optimizing and maintaining advanced grid systems and applications (e.g., FLISR, VVO, DER integration).
  • Participate in requirements gathering, data analysis, and business process documentation to inform the design and configuration of client solutions.
  • Collaborate on project planning, budgeting, and execution tasks—supporting the development of detailed project plans, tracking milestones, and preparing documentation for status updates.
  • Contribute to analysis, design, build, configuration, and testing activities across project lifecycles, including defect triage and deployment support.
  • Assist with project management activities such as scheduling, communication, and task tracking using methodologies like Waterfall or Agile.
  • Prepare and maintain quality deliverables, technical documentation, and client presentations, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.
  • Support the facilitation of workshops, meetings, and training sessions with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of change management and business process design activities, incorporating feedback from stakeholders to address operational needs.
  • Assist with software selection activities, including requirements definition, RFP development, vendor evaluation, and solution demonstrations.
  • Help ensure compliance with safety protocols and site policies.
  • Contribute to operational support and post-deployment activities, including training, documentation updates, and ongoing client assistance.
  • Foster teamwork and maintain effective communication with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project delivery, team objectives, and client success.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the electric utility industry or equivalent.
  • Experience implementing and integrating operational systems such as OMS, DMS, ADMS, AMI, Distribution Automation, and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) is preferred.
  • Experience with the AspenTech Monarch platform is a plus.
  • Strong ability to influence or lead project execution.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with leading-edge applications, operations technology, and industry-standard tools.
  • Experience with project execution methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
