Title: Accounting Manager
Compensation:$65-$85/hr, depending on experience
Type: Contract
Location: San Diego, CA- (Hybrid 3 days/week in office)
Responsibilities
- Lead daily accounting operations, including month-end close, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting support
- Review accounting documentation and schedules to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies
- Supervise and develop a small accounting team, providing mentorship, direction, and performance support
- Assist with integration activities related to acquisitions and support efforts to standardize accounting processes across entities
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and cross-functional teams to address accounting matters and support business objectives
- Help improve operational efficiency and maintain consistency within a highly manual ERP environment
- Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for process improvements and stronger internal controls
- Ensure deadlines and deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA designation preferred
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and month-end close procedures
- Previous experience leading or supervising accounting staff
- Experience reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting documentation
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis functions
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to problem-solve in a fast-changing environment
- Experience with acquisition integrations, ERP transitions, or accounting process improvement initiatives is a plus
- Ability to balance hands-on accounting responsibilities with broader operational and strategic initiatives
