2nd Shift R&D Microbiologist

We’re seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented R&D Microbiologist on the 2ND shift and weekend shift. You’ll play a key part in testing instruments and consumables, executing protocols, and supporting the commercial launch of innovative solutions. The customer is a leader in Molecular and Genomics diagnostics. 

This is a contract position initially approved for 3 months with a good opportunity to be extended.

Location: San Jose

Pay Rate:$35.00 to $40.00/Hr.

Schedule:

• Wednesday–Friday: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological testing to support study protocols and evaluate new instruments, AST panels, and consumables
• Analyze assay data and maintain accurate documentation
• Inspect incoming consumables for quality and compliance
• Process biological specimens using aseptic techniques and safety protocols
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project goals
• Prepare and present reports on experimental findings and failure investigations
• Participate in routine lab operations including maintenance, cleaning, and experiment setup
• Support additional lab and departmental projects as assigned

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline is required

Experience & Skills:

• Hands-on experience with microbiological testing and aseptic techniques
• Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and FDA Quality System Regulations is a plus

Estimated Min Rate: $35.00
Estimated Max Rate: $40.00
