MES Application Engineer for SmartFactory EA - Advanced
Location: 100% Remote (Must Be: Near Austin, TX or Santa Clara, CA)
Travel: Up to 25%
Experience: 5–10 years
Max Bill Rate:$$70 to $81 per hour
Work Shift: 8-Hour Day
About the Role
Seeking a skilled MES Application Engineer to support the development, deployment, and service of our SmartFactory® and SmartFactory Rx® automation solutions. This role focuses on manufacturing execution, factory performance, equipment performance, and advanced process control. The ideal candidate will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and leverage technologies such as AI, machine learning, and automation to enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Implement MES solutions integrated with factory and business systems.
• Collaborate with product development teams to create new automation solutions.
• Coordinate with customer IT teams for deployment and configuration of EA solutions.
• Deliver technical presentations to customer stakeholders.
• Manage projects following APG’s standard PM lifecycle.
• Perform software installations at customer sites.
• Contribute to and manage technical knowledge bases.
• Respond to RFPs and gather customer requirements.
• Develop and deliver SOWs and cost estimates.
• Apply continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 8D, Six Sigma, Kaizen).

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Visual Studio, C#, .Net, Oracle, and SQL.
• Strong project management capabilities.
• Experience in MES integration and deployment within semiconductor, solar, display, or PCB manufacturing.
• Familiarity with factory automation systems such as RMS, APC, and APF.
• Ability to communicate technical and business concepts to senior management.
• Experience working with enterprise automation software on Windows or Unix platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering or related field.
• Background in factory operations.
• Experience with continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
