We are seeking a UX Designer to help build, maintain, and scale an enterprise design system for complex, data-heavy internal tools. This role will bridge design and front-end engineering by ensuring UI components and patterns are consistent, accessible, scalable, and aligned with production implementation.
Scope:
• Build, maintain, and expand Figma component libraries.
• Audit and document UI patterns to improve consistency and component adoption.
• Develop accessible design patterns aligned with WCAG standards.
• Define design tokens and theming structures.
• Create usage guidelines, interaction specifications, and contribution standards.
• Support product teams adopting the design system through collaboration and office hours.
• Partner with designers, product managers, and engineers to align designs with production implementation.
• Evaluate AI-assisted tools for documentation, linting, and design-to-code workflows.
Required:
• 3+ years of experience building, scaling, or maintaining enterprise design systems.
• Advanced proficiency with Figma, including variables, component variants, auto-layout, and token workflows.
• Strong understanding of WCAG and accessible design practices.
• Experience designing complex, data-heavy, or high-density interfaces.
• Strong visual and interaction design skills with a detail-oriented approach.
• Experience documenting UI patterns, design standards, and interaction specifications.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product designers, product managers, and software engineers.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
Pluses:
• Experience with Angular Material or Google Material Design.
• Understanding of Angular component structures, theming, and front-end implementation constraints.
• Experience with design tokens, design system tooling, or token automation.
• Experience designing for robotics, simulation, mapping, autonomous vehicles, developer tools, or other complex technical environments.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows, automated linting, documentation generation, or design-to-code tools.
Estimated Min Rate: $80.00
Estimated Max Rate: $100.00/hr+. Depends on work experience.
