Required Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in telecommunications or equivalent technical training
- College or technical degree preferred
- Knowledge of private line broadband installation and maintenance, DS3/DS1, SONET/DWDM, and IP/MPLS fundamentals
- Proficiency with test equipment such as OTDR, OSA, DS1/3, Ethernet
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- Strong PC, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including day, evening, night, weekends, and holidays
- Self-motivated with sound decision-making skills, even with minimal supervision
- Multi-tasking and maintaining composure in demanding situations
- Cisco or Alcatel Lucent IP certifications
- VOIP switching and maintenance experience
- Fiber optics splicing and maintenance
- SS7/STP support knowledge
- Technical training or degree in telecommunications, engineering, or related field
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in telecom infrastructure
- Willing to provide 24x7 network support, including trouble tickets and alarm monitoring
- Ability to support emergency restoration efforts for aerial and buried fiber optic cables
- Ability to support colocation facilities and conduct thorough site audits and documentation
