Sr. Staff Navigation Estimation Engineer
We are seeking a Staff Navigation Estimation Engineer to develop positioning and estimation software for ADAS/Autonomous Driving. This role focuses on GNSS/INS estimation, raw measurement processing, embedded software implementation, and safety-compliant development in an ISO 26262 environment.
You Will
  • Design, develop, and optimize navigation estimation software for embedded automotive platforms.
  • Implement positioning algorithms using GNSS, IMU, wheel-speed, and vehicle-motion inputs.
  • Develop GNSS measurement processing for observables such as pseudorange, carrier phase, Doppler, and measurement quality indicators.
  • Build robust estimation logic including measurement validation, residual monitoring, outlier rejection, and fault detection.
  • Develop safety-related software aligned with ASIL-B goals and ISO 26262 software development practices.
  • Support simulation, replay, regression testing, and data analysis using vehicle logs and estimator outputs.
  • Collaborate with systems, safety, platform, validation, and embedded software teams to deliver production-ready positioning software.

You Bring
  • Strong C++ software development experience for real-time, embedded, or high-reliability systems.
  • Solid understanding of GNSS measurement models, estimation theory, sensor fusion, and navigation fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with EKF/UKF, least squares, factor graphs, RTK/PPP, INS integration, or GNSS/INS localization.
  • Experience developing production software with attention to reliability, latency, determinism, diagnostics, and testability.
  • Experience working in an ISO 26262 environment, preferably with ASIL-B software requirements and verification artifacts.
  • Strong debugging skills using logs, simulation results, raw sensor data, estimator states, residuals, and covariance outputs.
  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field; ideally 10+ years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with multi-constellation/multi-frequency GNSS, correction services, ambiguity-resolution support, or GNSS receiver integration.
  • Experience with automotive software practices such as ASPICE, MISRA C++, AUTOSAR, SIL/HIL testing, or fault injection.
  • Python/MATLAB experience for prototyping, log analysis, visualization, and automated validation.


Estimated Min Rate: $70.00
Estimated Max Rate: $90.00
