Title: Senior Network Engineer
Compensation: Up to $165,000 annually + annual bonus + comprehensive benefits

Responsibilities: Network Architecture & Engineering

  • Design and maintain resilient LAN/WAN solutions supporting headquarters, data centers, and approximately 35 branch locations.
  • Engineer and support Cisco Nexus ACI environments, including multi-tenant segmentation, routing policies, and fabric design.
  • Oversee campus and branch switching and wireless infrastructure leveraging Cisco Catalyst and Meraki platforms.
  • Partner with cloud engineering teams to support Azure connectivity, including ExpressRoute and virtual network integrations.
Implementation & Configuration

  • Deploy and optimize routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, QoS, VPN (site-to-site and remote access), and segmentation strategies.
  • Administer next-generation firewall solutions and secure remote access platforms in collaboration with Information Security.
  • Establish standardized configurations and best practices for network services across the enterprise.
Operations & Reliability

  • Ensure high availability across a 500–600 user environment with geographically distributed connectivity.
  • Monitor performance, capacity, and utilization; proactively address latency, packet loss, and connectivity issues.
  • Lead root cause analysis for incidents and drive long-term corrective actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation including diagrams, IP address management, configuration archives, and operational runbooks.
Security & Compliance

  • Support implementation of secure network architectures aligned with financial industry regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with security teams to enforce segmentation, access controls, and secure wireless authentication (e.g., 802.1X).
  • Assist with audit preparation, logging validation, and compliance reporting.
Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to modernization efforts through scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
  • Identify opportunities to automate routine maintenance and configuration tasks.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements aligned to scalability and security objectives.
Collaboration & Service

  • Deliver high-touch support to internal stakeholders and branch teams.
  • Coordinate with vendors and carriers for circuit provisioning, escalations, and hardware lifecycle management.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the IT organization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in enterprise networking, including senior-level responsibilities.
  • Hands-on expertise with:
    • Cisco Nexus (ACI) environments
    • Cisco Catalyst and/or Meraki switching and wireless
    • Enterprise routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
    • Palo Alto firewall technologies and secure remote access solutions (Prisma)
  • Experience supporting distributed branch environments and data center connectivity.
  • Exposure to Azure networking and hybrid cloud integrations.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Layer 1–7 network domains.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business impact.
Preferred:
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, PCNSE, or relevant wireless/security credentials.
  • Background in financial services, banking, or credit union environments.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and frequent standing.
  • Occasional walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting equipment up to 75 lbs.
  • Periodic exposure to data center environments, including dust and elevated work areas.
