Location: Longmont, CO
Duration: 6 month contract (possibility of conversion)
Pay: $25/hr
Shift: M-F 8-4:30
Duties:
- Prepare and characterize assay reagents, including antibodies, antigens, conjugates (e.g., gold nanoparticles, latex beads), and buffers
- Assemble and test lateral flow prototypes, including membrane selection, striping, blocking, cutting, and housing
- Perform analytical testing (sensitivity, specificity, reproducibility, stability, and robustness studies)
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and electronic records, prepare technical reports, training materials, and technical guidance for internal stakeholders
- Support recordkeeping and documentation in compliance with USDA and federal requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with assay development, process engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
- Assist in equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Support method validation and verification activities as required
- Support technical transfer experiments onto automated manufacturing equipment for both existing and new veterinary diagnostic products.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences field (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or similar degree program); 0-2 years’ experience in biotechnology industry or laboratory setting preferred.
- Hands-on laboratory experience (academic, government, or industry) performing biological or biochemical assays
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and experimental rigor
- Experience working in Biosafety level 1 laboratory.
- Experience in immunoassays, lateral flow assays, ELISA, or related techniques
- Familiarity with diagnostic assay development and/or analytical method validation.
- Experience working in regulated environments (Quality Systems, ISO 9001:2015).
