Maritime Systems Tech & Field Engineer Unmanned Systems / RF Communications / Test & Integration Overview Seeking a hands-on engineer to support the integration, testing, deployment, and customer-facing evaluation of advanced communications systems used on unmanned and autonomous platforms. This position combines elements of Systems Engineering, Field Engineering, and Test Engineering, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working across the full lifecycle from lab development through real-world deployment.

The successful candidate will help solve challenging communications and integration problems in environments where traditional wireless systems often struggle, including maritime, subsea, military, and other operationally demanding conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate radios, antennas, sensors, networking equipment, and compute hardware onto unmanned maritime and autonomous systems including USVs, UUVs, ROVs, and related platforms.
  • Perform system-level testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation in both laboratory and field environments.
  • Develop test procedures, automate data collection where appropriate, analyze results, and provide feedback to engineering teams to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Support customer demonstrations, field exercises, and operational deployments while serving as a technical liaison between engineering teams and end users.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues spanning RF communications, networking, embedded hardware, power systems, and platform integration.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience with unmanned systems, robotics, autonomous platforms, RF communications, or field engineering.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience across hardware, networking, communications, and system integration challenges.
  • Ability to operate independently in laboratory, customer, and field environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with engineers, operators, and customers.
  • Willingness to travel and support testing in maritime, remote, military, or operational environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with USVs, UUVs, ROVs, drones, autonomous vehicles, or maritime robotics.
  • Experience supporting military, defense, government, Navy, EOD, special operations, or other mission-critical technology programs.
  • Experience with RF communications, wireless networking, test automation, data analysis, embedded systems, or field testing of complex technical products.


Estimated Min Rate: $120,000/Annually
Estimated Max Rate: $170,000/Annually
