Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for performing highly skilled industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment while supporting plant safety, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position partners with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to maximize equipment uptime, improve efficiency, and support World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Equipment Maintenance
- Install, repair, modify, and maintain manufacturing equipment.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
- Utilize Lockout/Tagout (Energy Control Procedures) safely.
- Read and interpret: Blueprints, Schematics, Technical drawings
- Troubleshoot equipment to identify root causes rather than replacing components unnecessarily.
- Inspect equipment proactively to prevent failures.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Coordinate work with outside contractors as needed.
- Perform equipment alignment using precision tools.
- Maintain pumps, conveyors, bucket elevators, bearings, and rotating equipment.
- Understand: Lubrication principles, hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, Steam systems, Hot oil systems
- Read hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
- Perform: Pipe fitting, Welding, Belt splicing, Machining (lathe, mill, drill press, grinding)
- Troubleshoot rotating equipment using ultrasonic technology.
- Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems.
- Read electrical schematics and P&ID drawings.
- Troubleshoot: AC/DC motors, variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Servo systems, Control circuits, Burner systems
- Understand: Motor theory, Wire sizing, Fuse protection, Electrical grounding and shielding
- Diagnose PLC-related equipment faults.
- Work with electrical control loops including IM/APC and weight control systems.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Five (5)+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience maintaining manufacturing equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving: Mechanical systems, Electrical systems, Hydraulics, Pneumatics
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Basic welding knowledge.
- Basic PLC knowledge.
- Advanced understanding of industrial electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Mechanical: Pumps, Bearings, Conveyors, Pipefitting, Welding, Rigging, Machining, Precision alignment, Belt tracking, Lubrication systems
Electrical: Motor controls, AC/DC systems, Servo drives, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Electrical troubleshooting, Schematics, P&IDs, Burner systems
Controls: PLC troubleshooting, Limit switches, Photo eyes, Control loops
Hydraulic & Pneumatic: Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, Compressed air, Steam systems
Software: SAP PM, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Basic computer proficiency
- Manufacturing or process manufacturing environment.
- World Class Manufacturing (WCM).
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
- Experience working with large industrial manufacturing equipment.
