Job Title:  Lab Supervisor
Location: Cambridge, MA

The Compound Library Lab Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the lab technicians within the compound library laboratory and carrying out sample management activities in the lab. 30% supervision, 70% lab work. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient and accurate handling, tracking, shipping, and storage of samples, while also providing guidance and supervision to team members. The Compound Library Lab Supervisor will play a crucial role in maintaining sample integrity, implementing best practices, and continuous improvement in sample management processes. 

3.2 Key Responsibilities

Operations Management and Team Leadership

• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the compound library laboratory as described in the scope of work
• Coordinate training for laboratory staff on SOPs, systems, and safety protocols
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture

Compliance & Documentation

• Implement, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Ensure proper documentation and data integrity across all compound library activities
• Prepare regular reports on operations, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs)

Stakeholder Engagement

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and research teams to understand and fulfill compound library needs
• Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues

3.3 Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in laboratory operations or compound library
• Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of sample management principles and best practices
• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
• Experience with liquid handling equipment (Echo Acoustic Liquid Handler)
• Proficiency in inventory management and tracking systems
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory software applications

3.4 Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech research environment
• Knowledge of drug discovery processes and compound library workflows
• Experience with automated compound storage systems
• Familiarity Cenevo MOSAIC software
• DOT and IATA trained

Estimated Min Rate: $28.70
Estimated Max Rate: $41.00
