Field Systems Deployment Lead
Irving, TX (Onsite w/ 20% Travel)
6 month contract to hire

Position Summary
We are looking for a  Field Systems Deployment Lead  to manage the virtual server environment and software deployment lifecycle for our nationwide locations. This role is a primary technical point of contact for our field employees and requires a professional who can blend technical execution with exceptional customer communication.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of VM templates, leading the deployment team through high-volume software pushes, and assisting with site startups. You must be capable of working independently to lead remote site network migrations and server conversions when required.


Key Responsibilities
  • Deployment Leadership: Lead the field deployment team in scheduling and executing software pushes to nationwide shops. Manage the logistics to ensure updates are completed without impacting business operations.
  • VM & Template Management: Deploy and configure VMs for SQL, Domain Controllers, and Print Servers. Maintain standardized server VM templates in vCenter to ensure rapid and consistent field rollouts.
  • Customer Communication: Act as a primary technical resource for field employees. You must be able to translate technical concepts into plain language and provide clear, professional guidance to non-technical staff.
  • Network Conversions & Migrations: Lead remote site network migrations and server conversions as needed. Ability to manage the technical cutover process from start to finish without direct supervision.
  • Implementation Support: Assist the startup team by ensuring all virtual server environments are correctly provisioned and functional for new locations.
  • Technical Escalation: Serve as the escalation point for Level 2 server issues originating from the helpdesk.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear server development standards, deployment checklists, and maintenance guides.
 
Required Skills & Experience
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to remain patient and professional while troubleshooting with non-technical customers.
  • System Administration: Solid experience with Windows Server roles (Active Directory, SQL Server environments, and Print Management).
  • Virtualization: Proficiency in using vCenter to manage templates and deploy virtual machines.
  • Logistics & Organization: Experience coordinating multi-site software distributions or deployment schedules.
  • Independence: Proven ability to handle remote site assignments and technical cutovers without on-site supervision.
Travel Requirements
  • This position requires the ability to travel up to  20% of the year to support field sites during migrations and conversions.
 

Estimated Min Rate: $26.60
Estimated Max Rate: $38.00
