As a Fiber Field Technician, you will be the frontline hero ensuring seamless connectivity, supporting both wholesale and enterprise customers. This role offers competitive pay, shift premiums, on-call pay, company vehicle, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact in the telecommunications industry.
Required Skills:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a telecommunications environment or equivalent technical training
- Expertise in DS3/DS1, SONET/DWDM installation and maintenance
- Strong understanding of IP/MPLS fundamentals
- Proficiency with test equipment such as OTDR, OSA, DS1/3, and Ethernet testing tools
- Ability to analyze, monitor, and resolve network issues promptly
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Self-motivated with strong decision-making skills
- Excellent PC skills and strong oral and written communication
- Cisco or Alcatel Lucent IP certifications
- Experience with VOIP switching and maintenance
- Fiber optics splicing and maintenance knowledge
- SS7/STP support experience
- College or technical degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Willingness to work day, evening, night shifts, overtime, call-ins, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to work in demanding environments and multi-task effectively
