This position is to cover a leave of absence in the employee health department of the medical center. Job starts ASAP and is ongoing until further notice. Assist with the clearance process and medical screenings for new and existing employees.
--> Shifts are Monday-Friday typically 7:30am - 4:00pm.
Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Active/unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of California
- Minimum (3) years' experience as a Nurse
- Previous experience in at least one of the following type settings: Occupational/Employee Health, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Primary Care, School Nursing, Corrections, and/or Family Medicine
- Recent clinical experience, tech savvy, and reliable employee
What You’ll Be Doing:
- New hire health screenings
- Collect/update medical records
- Provide health promotion and wellness materials/information
- Post-exposure, communicable disease and blood borne pathogen follow-ups
- Provide medical testing such as EKGs, blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol, vision and hearing screening and perform limited interpretation of tests
- TB testing
- Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) and Respirator Fit Testing (RFT)
- Maintain employee health records for the entire facility
- Answer phones and assist with questions
- Administer vaccinations
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- BLS certified from American Heart Association
- Computer savvy (including prior EMR use)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player
- Immunization/titer records for: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, and Hep B series
- TB (PPD) test from within the last 90 days or QuantiFERON Gold within the last year
- Yearly physical
