We are seeking a hands-on Embedded Software Engineer to support embedded software development and hardware-software integration activities. This role focuses on developing small firmware features in embedded C, supporting board bring-up, and performing lab-based debugging and validation.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working at the intersection of firmware and hardware and enjoys solving real-world integration problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Embedded Firmware Development
- Develop and modify embedded C code for small features and bug fixes
- Follow coding standards and participate in code reviews
- Support feature integration into existing firmware architecture
- Hardware-Software Integration
- Assist with board bring-up and firmware deployment on target hardware
- Debug hardware-software interaction issues (GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet)
- Investigate interrupt behavior, timing issues, and peripheral configuration
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to resolve integration challenges
- Debugging & Lab Validation
- Use hardware debuggers (JTAG/SWD) to step through code and inspect registers
- Use oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to debug communication and timing issues
- Capture and analyze waveforms to support root cause analysis
- Build & Test Support
- Integrate firmware changes using the Bazel build system
- Troubleshoot build issues and manage feature configurations
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using Python and PyTest for bench-level validation
- Analyze test results and support regression testing efforts
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in embedded firmware development
- Strong proficiency in embedded C and familiar with MISRA C guidelines.
- Hands-on experience using hardware debuggers (JTAG/SWD)
- Experience supporting hardware bring-up
- Familiarity with Bazel build system and RTOS-based systems
- Basic experience with Python scripting and PyTest
- Strong debugging and problem-solving mindset
