Position Overview
Our client is seeking a DevOps Network Automation Engineer to support critical network operations, automation, observability, and incident management initiatives. This role will help ensure continued stability, visibility, and support across the network environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and automate enterprise network operations involving Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco networking technologies.
- Develop and maintain network automation solutions using Python and related tools.
- Monitor network health, performance, and availability using Splunk and other observability platforms.
- Support SASE solutions and cloud-based network technologies.
- Participate in monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management through the Technology Operations Center (TOC).
- Investigate network incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate timely resolution.
- Contribute to operational readiness, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Apply software engineering practices to network automation and infrastructure support.
- Evaluate and incorporate AI-enabled tools and technologies where appropriate.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and automation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise network environments in a DevOps, network engineering, SRE, or automation capacity.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco networking technologies.
- Strong Python scripting and automation experience.
- Experience with network monitoring, observability, and incident management.
- Experience using Splunk or a comparable monitoring and log-analysis platform.
- Familiarity with SASE solutions and cloud technologies.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, CI/CD, and automated operational processes.
- Ability to work independently during an evening shift and respond effectively to production incidents.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting large-scale financial services or highly regulated environments.
- Experience working in a TOC, NOC, or similar 24x7 operational environment.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted operations, automation, or engineering tools.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, APIs, Git, or CI/CD platforms.
- Relevant networking, cloud, DevOps, or security certifications.
