Responsibilities
  • Architect and design modern enterprise data platforms across on-premises and cloud ecosystems (Azure and Fabric).
  • Define architectural standards, reusable design patterns, roadmaps, and modernization strategies.
  • Lead the design of scalable data ingestion, storage, transformation, and modeling frameworks.
  • Drive cloud adoption initiatives with a focus on resiliency, scalability, and business alignment.
  • Consolidate and integrate data environments, pipelines, and models across multiple business units and acquisitions.
  • Integrate ERP, CRM, and operational systems into unified Lake/Lakehouse architectures.
  • Establish reusable ingestion and onboarding frameworks to support future growth.
  • Standardize canonical data models and eliminate duplicate or conflicting data assets.
  • Design and manage Lakehouse architectures using Bronze/Silver/Gold layering principles.
  • Govern Fabric workspaces, pipelines, Lakehouses, and semantic models.
  • Define enterprise KPI frameworks and maintain shared semantic layers.
  • Ensure data lineage, quality, and operational observability across platforms.
  • Define and manage core business entities (e.g., Customer, Product, Vendor, Location).
  • Implement scalable, pragmatic master data management (MDM-lite/hybrid) approaches.
  • Resolve data inconsistencies such as identity conflicts and hierarchy mismatches.
  • Establish metadata standards, stewardship roles, and governance processes.
  • Develop scalable governance models to support enterprise growth and acquisitions.
  • Implement security controls including domain isolation, RLS/CLS, and data certification standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, privacy, and enterprise security policies.
  • Partner with security teams to enforce consistent governance and controls.
  • Oversee BI platforms including Power BI, Fabric, and legacy/on-prem solutions.
  • Govern workspace structures, capacity management, and semantic model performance.
  • Ensure reliable, scalable, and governed data access.
  • Provide architectural guidance to DBA teams on performance, high availability, and disaster recovery.
  • Govern schema lifecycle, environment consistency, and change management processes.
  • Support modernization and migration of legacy systems (e.g., DB2/iSeries).
  • Oversee CI/CD and deployment pipelines across hybrid environments.
  • Standardize automation, version control, approvals, and SDLC practices.
  • Manage deployments across Azure services (ADF, Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Fabric).
  • Architect end-to-end observability and monitoring frameworks.
  • Implement dashboards, telemetry, alerting, and reliability standards.
  • Govern enterprise scheduling and orchestration tools.
  • Drive proactive monitoring across pipelines, databases, and analytics platforms.
  • Provide leadership across data engineering, BI, and DBA teams.
  • Guide decision-making on data architecture, governance, and modernization initiatives .
 
Requirements
  • MUST HAVE AZURE FABRIC EXPERIENCE
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture and cloud analytics.
  • Strong expertise in data modeling, schema design, and large-scale data systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services including ADF, Azure SQL, Synapse, and ADLS Gen2.
  • Deep experience with SQL Server and performance tuning.
  • Experience working with legacy systems such as DB2/iSeries and migration strategies.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL technologies (e.g., Cosmos DB) and big data tools (e.g., Databricks, PySpark).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of identity and access management (e.g., Azure Entra ID, least privilege principles).
  • Experience with cloud cost management and optimization.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric.
