We are seeking an experienced Data Annotation Specialist to support the development of high-quality datasets for AI and autonomy systems. This
role contributes directly to improving vehicle safety by annotating and validating complex data used in machine learning models. The ideal candidate
is highly detail-oriented, comfortable with repetitive data tasks, and able to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Annotation & Labeling
• Annotate and label image, video, and time-series data using internal software tools
• Perform tasks such as bounding box annotation, polygon labeling, semantic/pixel segmentation, and Lidar annotation
• Attach metadata (e.g., comments, tags, markups) to datasets following established guidelines
Quality Control & Validation
• Conduct quality assurance and validation of annotated data from internal teams and external vendors
• Ensure annotated datasets meet project accuracy and completeness standards
• Evaluate annotation metrics to identify and drive continuous dataset improvement
Project Ownership & Collaboration
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on project-specific annotation requirements
• Maintain ownership of assigned annotation tasks and adapt to evolving guidelines and priorities
• Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to define requirements, develop documentation, and implement solutions
Data Operations & Process Improvement
• Batch and prepare datasets using internal tools to ensure readiness for annotation workflows
• Provide constructive feedback to vendors and internal teams to improve tooling, processes, and data quality
• Update and maintain documentation as annotation requirements evolve
• Support multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in data annotation (2D/3D), preferably in autonomous driving domains, along with QC/QA experience
• Experience using annotation tools, structured datasets, and tools like Microsoft Office 365 and Jira
• Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to work independently
• Experience in segmentation, classification, or similar annotation tasks, including working with external vendors
