Position Summary
The CNC Machinist is responsible for manufacturing precision implants and instruments at an intermediate skill level. This role involves setting up and operating CNC and manual equipment, troubleshooting machining programs, and supporting production quality and efficiency. The Machinist will also assist with training entry-level machinists and ensuring compliance with all quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment.
- Manufacture products while meeting production goals and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and adjust CNC programs as needed, with support from Engineering.
- Build and modify tooling as required to support production needs.
- Perform self-inspection and ensure proper inspection setups to meet quality requirements.
- Work from written work instructions, blueprints, and standard operating procedures.
- Accurately document production and inspection results.
- Follow all GMP requirements, departmental SOPs, and quality system procedures.
- Identify, document, and report process deviations to the team leader.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Apply applicable federal, international, and internal quality standards.
- Support and collaborate with other employees, teams, and departments as needed.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience & Technical Skills
- 1+ years of experience as a CNC machinist.
- Working knowledge of CNC and manual machining equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and make basic edits to CNC programs.
- Experience with inspection procedures and precision measurement tools.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
