The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing and modifying detailed design drawings, layouts, and construction documents in accordance with project requirements, client standards, and applicable industry regulations. The position requires close collaboration with engineering and project teams to ensure accurate, complete, and timely deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical utility design, specifically related to electrical systems and infrastructure projects; OR
- Associate degree in Drafting Technology or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical utility design; OR
- High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in electrical utility design.
- An Associate degree in a drafting-related discipline is highly preferred.
- Candidates with a bachelor's degree in engineering are not eligible for this drafting-focused role.
- Internship experience does not count toward the required years of experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the electric utility, energy, or infrastructure industry, with a strong focus on electrical design and drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation CONNECT for electrical drafting and detailing.
- Experience producing accurate, detailed drawings for electrical equipment, site layouts, grounding systems, conduit routing, and electrical plans.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, drafting best practices, and quality control procedures.
- Experience with 3D design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, and/or Civil 3D.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary project teams.
