This is a laboratory-based role requiring strong technical execution, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently follow defined methods. The Analytical Operations Associate will support day-to-day analytical operations and work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely generation of high-quality data.
The individual should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and program timelines.
Location: South San Francisco, CA
Shift: M-F 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or ~12:00 PM – 8:30 PM or 9-5pm
Duration: 6 months
Pay Rate: $35-40/hr DOE
Responsibilities
- Execute routine and non-routine analytical testing following established protocols and test methods
- Perform assays supporting process characterization, including:
- Multicolor flow cytometry using BD instruments
- Perform flow cytometry data analysis using FlowJo Software
- Work with cell therapy-related samples and associated analytical techniques
- Accurately document experimental data and results in Benchling (ELN)
- Perform peer review of data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to protocols
- Compile, analyze, and summarize data to support program needs
- Troubleshoot assays and escalate issues as needed
- Support method optimization, transfer, and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain laboratory organization and ensure proper handling of materials and reagents
- Follow all internal procedures, safety guidelines, and documentation practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate sample testing and data delivery
- Assist with general lab upkeep and operational readiness
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience) with two years of analytical experience, following established protocols and test methods
- Hands-on experience in flow cytometry is required
- Experience working in an electronic lab notebook system, preferably Benchling
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed protocols with high precision and consistency
- Strong organizational, documentation, and data integrity skills
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Required to be on-site daily
