The Advanced Development Technician will support the development and testing of the core mechanical, electrical, and thermal systems for our next generation EV platforms.
What you’ll be able to do:
- with engineers to build, modify, instrument, and test mechanical, electrical, thermal components, and systems.
- root cause analysis of early characterization and validation component failures.
- machining and fabrication work in support of prototype and test efforts.
- and build test fixtures and assembly tools.
- and debug test equipment hardware and control systems.
- experiments to support systems, safety, hardware, and software development, collect test data, manage data storage, retention, backup, and access.
- and coordination of repairs for lab equipment and tooling.
- integration of new parts or systems into test stands and provide feedback on manufacturability.
- engineering drawings and inspect components using precision measuring equipment to determine that parts meet required specifications.
- and resolve issues with embedded systems over various vehicle communication protocols.
The minimum requirements we seek:
- degree in Automotive Tech & Repair or equivalent experience.
- years of experience supporting electric vehicle architecture & integration development.
- C driver’s license or ability to attain one.
- with machining and fabrication.
- communication and collaboration skills.
- with lab equipment installation maintenance and calibration.
Preferred Requirements:
- degree in engineering or related field.
- experience building and launching automotive products and electrical, thermal and mechanical system prototyping and testing.
- background in instrumentation and data acquisition.
- diagnosing and repairing HVAC components and systems.
- management of automotive fluids such as glycol, AC refrigerant, and oil-based liquids and gases.
- interpret and create wiring diagrams for test fixture construction.
- with controls methods for automotive systems
- with instrumentation, calibration, and measurement of thermal mechanical systems in a lab environment.
- navigating geometry in 3DX/Catia V6 and interpreting 2-D engineering drawings
