<item><title>Quality Control (QC) Lab Technician Job (Berkeley, CA, USA)</title><description><![CDATA[<p>Yoh has a contract-to-hire opportunity for a <strong>Quality Control (QC) Lab Technician</strong> to join our client in Berkeley, CA. </p><br/><p><strong><b>Job Responsibilities:</b> </strong></p><br/><ul><br/>- QC inspection Responsibilities:</li><br/>- Perform accurate and timely inspection of parts and devices according to established procedures.</li><br/>- Adhere to established clean room protocols.</li><br/>- Filter polymer final products according to established procedures as required.</li><br/>- Organization and inventory of retain samples.</li><br/>- Label and inspect finished product, both polymer solution and device component.</li><br/>- Provide timely communication of relevant issues to manager including issues regarding quality, safety, and scheduling.</li><br/>- Contributes with ongoing evaluation and input for improvement of QC inspection processes and procedures.</li><br/>- Maintain labor posting and timekeeping requirements in designated system on a daily basis.</li><br/>- Assist QC Supervisor, Device in training other inspectors on inspection techniques, as required.</li><br/>- Provides inspection and packaging for device component R&D projects as required.</li><br/>- Is accountable for maintaining a clean, orderly and safe work environment.</li><br/>- Maintains PTG confidential laboratory notebook as needed.</li><br/>- Operation of Met One Laser Particle Counter.</li><br/>- Lab tech responsibilities:</li><br/>- Analytical testing according to DSM Quality Systems protocols of raw materials, intermediates, and finished product while maintaining a laboratory notebook.</li><br/>- Various sample preparation duties including but not limited to: GPC samples, Solvent filtration for GPC, Compression molding films, Film casting using polymer solutions and preparation of color standards.</li><br/>- Various calibration and tests including but not limited to: Balance calibration, Karl Fischer unit calibration and test, Moisture analyzer (Computrac) calibration and test, FT-IR calibration and test, Melt indexer calibration and test, Viscometer calibration and test, Color test, % solids test and Tubing shrinkage test.</li><br/>- Various housekeeping and safety responsibilities including but not limited to: Weekly chemical inventory and notification, emergency shower and eyewash weekly check, decanting liquid waste in appropriate waste container and disposing of solid and liquid waste, and monitor humidity and temperature in the environmental room.</li><br/>- Various administrative duties including data entry, filing and distribution of R&D paperwork, making logbooks and organizing lab shelves, drawers and file cabinets.</li><br/>- Comply with all DSM safety requirements, including posted placards, SOPs and the Safety Manual.</li><br/>- Report any observed unsafe equipment, condition or practice immediately to a supervisor, management or member of the Safety Committee.</li><br/>- Adhere to DSM Quality System procedures and the ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 standards.</li><br/></ul><br/><p><strong>Job Qualifications:</strong></p><br/><ul><br/>- Zero to two (0 - 2) years of previous experience in a QC environment performing inspection duties.</li><br/>- High School Diploma and/or AA degree or relevant work experience.</li><br/>- Ability to use inspection instruments such as microscopes, calipers and pin gauges.</li><br/>- Ability to follow written technical instructions.</li><br/>- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.</li><br/>- Punctual, self-starter, dependable and detail-oriented.</li><br/>- Wet chemistry skills</li><br/></ul><br/><p><strong>Discover all that's possible with Yoh.
