Job Responsibilities:

- Contribute to the company vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork.
- Ability to accomplish activities related to system design, equipment configuration and installation, integration, testing and service validation prior to commercial deployment.
- Standardizing auto configuration and the control of other CPE management functions within an integrated framework.
- Responsible for testing, evaluation, integration and configuration of DOCSIS platforms.
- Define custom models between customer-premises equipment (CPE) and Auto Configuration Servers (ACS).
- Member of a team of engineers responsible for DOCSIS products, services and technology.
- The individual will be a key contributor to the development and deployment of DOCSIS CPE devices and platforms that include Cisco 10K Traditional, Cisco 10K M-CMTS, Cisco RFGW-10.
- This position will be responsible for testing and integration of multiple vendor products into client´s HFC network.
- Develop documentation related to design and proper configuration of system components.
- The individual will also support vendors with product and service requirements based on business needs and internal customer requests.
- Hands on work in a lab or cable system environment is required to validate test plans and configurations before service deployment.
- Participation in industry working groups and technical forum related to technology development and standards.
- Design and testing of the growing number of different Internet access devices w/ TR-069.
- Contributor for TR-069 technologies including defining technical specifications for CPE WAN Management Protocol (CWMP). (Candidates can be trained up on TR-069.)

Job Qualifications:

- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology (IT) or related field is required.
- Ability to analyze test results and compare those test results with the DOCSIS specifications to determine the appropriateness of the recommended feedback to the vendor for modifications of their solution.
- Ability to create a test plan in MS Word.
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals.
- Ability to translate configuration specifications into working device configurations.
- Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.).
- Knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols, and network topology.
- Knowledge in network designing software is desired.
- Knowledge of support systems for network management and element management systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of DOCSIS 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, Packet Cable, and DOCSIS Set-Top Gateway.
- Demonstrated knowledge of implementing and managing provisioning suite (e.g., DHCP, TFTP, DNS, time of day).

Preferred Job Skills / Experience / Certifications and/or Licenses:

- Demonstrated knowledge of Hybrid Fiber Coax and DOCSIS system is preferred.
- Strong technical skills working knowledge of DOCSIS Specifications including the following technologies; DOCSIS 1.0, DOCSIS 1.1, DOCSIS 2.0, DOCSIS 3.0, Packet Cable 1.0, Packet Cable 1.5 and Packet Cable 2.0.
- Experience working with a Cable MSO or Telecommunications Company is preferred.
- Certifications and/or Licenses is preferred
- CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or juniper equivalent.
- Knowledge in using tools (e.g., network sniffers) and remote access solutions is preferred.
